A little spare time at work and what do you know... Emily has created a blog! Oh NO!
Some ramblings...
Note to self #1: Holmes is much more common last name than DeLuca. Before marriage, if I were to pick out a screen name or user name or whatever, DeLuca would always be available. When I was just asked to select a name for my blog, holmes, theholmes, emily holmes, and holmes family were not available. I am going to have to get used to being so "mainstream".
Note to self #2: After 4 months of marriage, I have officially caved and gone back on my word. Dale always had a television in his room growing up. I never had one. When we got married, I told him I didn't want one in the bedroom because bedrooms are for talking and cuddle time and other adult activitise. I didn't want to have a tv as an excuse to not communicate. "Honey, I don't want to talk about my day, I am watching something." Also, I don't want our children to have tv's in their rooms so even though kids are not in our immediate future, I thought we could start to practice what we preach. Cause you know there will come a day when offspring #1 wants a tv and says "well that isn't fair, you guys have a tv in your room". To which, I obviously as a parent, could respond with "Life isn't fair offspring. Parents make the rules we can do whatever we want". But still. The principle was there.
SO fast forward (man it is hard to tell a story on a blog without being long...) to buying a house and needing furniture. I picked out a coach and loveseat that are cute and I thought, functional. WRONG. While there is space to people to rest their butts in our living room, if we both want to lay down and watch a movie together, our options are nonexistant. We both can't fit on the couch and that leaves one person scrunched up on the loveseat or worse, on the hardwood floor. Not ideal for cuddle time. Alas, I became grumpy when all I wanted was to cuddle after a long day of work with my husband and watch television, because it was not possible. On Sunday, we bought a tv for our bedroom. I feel compromised but I was not forced to buy this television, it was actually my idea so I guess it is okay to cave for all practical purposes. Man, marriage is tough.
I think blogging is going to be so much fun!

Haha! Right after I commented on your blog, I realized you had already commented on mine. This is gonna be fun! So glad we got to talk the other day too! Have a great week, friend!
Holmes! We need an update!
I laughed. We have the secret closet tv and the kids have survived without until Thanksgiving when Will earned the tv for the break until we move our tree!
